Voulgari SweetsOur HISTORY
The brothers Voulgari, Thomas, Panagiotis and Charalampos kept a coffee shop in Ypati, in an idyllic area beside the mill and served their guests with coffees and pastries such as mezedes, desserts, kurambiedes and dairy products.
The beginning

In 1932, the Voulgari brothers came to Lamia, accepting the proposal of their relative Konstantinos Theodoropoulos (who would retire due to retirement) and undertook the entire operation of his business, which involved the exploitation of the large building on the south side of Eleftherias Square with Diakou Street 2, where on the floors of the building were the “Kentrikon” Hotel, and the ground floor, they turned it into a cafeteria called “Ibi”. This operation worked for 45 years, that is about half a century, until 1977, when the building was demolished.
The Past

During the years of operation, the hotel and cafeteria became known all over Greece, not only for their excellent location in the center of Lamia but also for the excellent quality of the services and sweets provided by the professionals brothers Voulgaris to their customers. The hotel hosted celebrities such as King Constantine of Greece, Konstantinos Karamanlis and Aris Velouchiotis, and in the cafeteria all the nobility of Lamia, and not only. It should be noted that the Voulgaris brothers had their own workshop since then, with a professional confectioner of Asia Minor, something unprecedented for the pre-war years, and the pastry shop was famous for the bezedes, the Kopenhai and the galaktoboureko.
